This article will show you how to use the LPR feature in Destiny Mobile.

LPR Walkthrough

  1. Log into the Destiny Mobile App.

  2. Select the “Read Plate” menu option in the Main Menu.

  3. Select the account.

  4. Select “Scan” to scan the license plate or select “Browse” to upload an image of the license plate in question.

  5. Click on “Submit”

  6. If any violations are associated with that License Plate number, they will appear here.

Creating a Violation

  1. If you need to create a violation for the license plate in question select “Create Violation”.

  2. Enter the information as you see fit.

  3. To add the vehicle information select the hamburger menu at the top left.

  4. Then select “Vehicle”.

  5. The license plate field is already filled in.

  6. To edit this vehicle select “Edit”.

  7. Enter the vehicle details.

  8. Select “Save”.

  9. Then select “Back”.

  10. Once everything is completed select “Save”.

  11. Then select “Submit Report”.

Use Case Scenario

Searching for invalid or unpermitted vehicles on a property you service.

It takes roughly 1 hour to check 15 permitted vehicles without LPR, and even longer if a vehicle is in violation. Utilizing our service one would walk the property and be able to point the mobile device at a license plate and instantly verify if the vehicle belongs on the property. While utilizing the LPR feature, and if the vehicle has an invalid permit/or no permit at all, the officer can have the option to create a violation from the result screen. The system will automatically place the license plate number into the vehicle information field. Normal time to scan 15 permitted vehicles would roughly take 7 minutes.

How far should I be from the license plate when using the LPR feature?

We suggest about 10 feet away from the license plate in question. However, if you encounter any problems we suggest that you attempt to scan 5 additional times starting from 5 feet and moving toward 10 feet in 1 foot increments.

How do I get the LPR to work if it is too dark?

The LPR feature allows you to turn on your flash option when scanning the license plate.

Can I utilize this feature from my vehicle?

Yes, however you have to drive your vehicle the same distance away from the license plate as you would if you were walking behind the vehicle.
